Elvis y Chile

Hi Danielle, I'm Cecilia of ElvisChile fan club, think you know about me all ready, you'll see, I was on Graceland this Elvisweek 2008, was my first time in there and was one of the best memories of my life!, was a dream come true, anyway, here in my country, I wasn't even born but here was a magazine called ECRAN, this was the most famous magazine for young people in here in 50's and 60's decade, on 1962 this Elvis y Chilemagazine gave a award to Elvis, this was a wood figurine, a MOAI (this is an special stone huge statues that you can see on easter island, nobody knows about how, when and who made those but there are very popular) this figurine was made on easter island for Elvis, and he receive it from Mr. De Zarraga on Viva las Vegas set on 1964, we have some pictures of this event, and Elvis is in there with all Viva las Vegas staff, including Ann Margret, but nobody knows where is that figurine now, who have it?, I never saw this on Graceland, as you work on Elvis Archives I tought you might find something about it, or maybe know something about it?, if you don't know can you tell me who can  have this kind of information?, I know this is a very small award if you compare all that room that Elvis have in his house with all those awards, but for us is the only thing that Elvis receive from here, this award was gave to him because he was the most popular artist on southamerica at that time and on (of course). I just attached a few pictures of this moment for you to see it.  As you can see this picture is like the face of our fan club. I will be so gratefull if youcan give me some info about it and thank you so much for your time.

Dear Cecilia Solar,

Danielle has forwarded your request for information about the award Elvis received from Chile.  Yes, we do see that he received this award while on the set of the film "Viva Las Vegas."  Unfortunately, our vast collection of Elvis's belongings is still not all cataloged.  So we can't say if he still has the award or not.  We are trying very hard to continue our cataloging process which will take many more years to complete.  Elvis, his father Vernon and Col. Parker all kept so many things over the years that we will be busy for a long time with this.  We will let you know if we come across it.
We can only imagine how honored Elvis was to be recognized by his fans in South America.  He often voiced his desire to travel to other countries to meet his fans and it is very sad that he wasn't able to do so.  Thank you for your continued loyalty and love for Elvis.

Best Regards,
LaVonne
